my world has been turned upside down recently...

the days of summer have gone...

school is back in session...

and some people have come into my life
and have changed it completely

I miss the simple days,
when this was all the mattered.

Miles from where you are, I lay down on the cold ground...

"Set The Fire To The Third Bar"
(feat. Martha Wainwright)

I find the map and draw a straight line
Over rivers, farms, and state lines
The distance from 'A' to where you'd be
It's only finger-lengths that I see
I touch the place where I'd find your face
My finger in creases of distant dark places

I hang my coat up in the first bar
There is no peace that I've found so far
The laughter penetrates my silence
As drunken men find flaws in science

Their words mostly noises
Ghosts with just voices
Your words in my memory
Are like music to me

I'm miles from where you are,
I lay down on the cold ground
I, I pray that something picks me up
And sets me down in your warm arms

After I have travelled so far
We'd set the fire to the third bar
We'd share each other like an island
Until exhausted, close our eyelids
And dreaming, pick up from
The last place we left off
Your soft skin is weeping
A joy you can't keep in

I'm miles from where you are,
I lay down on the cold ground
And I, I pray that something picks me up
and sets me down in your warm arms

I'm miles from where you are,
I lay down on the cold ground
and I, I pray that something picks me up
and sets me down in your warm arms

(I heard this song in the trailer for Dear John and have become obsessed.)

the last song

After reading the last song I felt like a whole new world had opened up. One that was more made up of family and emotions then the material things that fill our reality. This book is so moving... it changed my life.

I was half was through the book when I asked if it was worth continuing. I have never not finished a book, and it wasn't as if I wasn't going to finish this one, I was just either going to put it off until after I was caught up and ahead of my school work or if I was going to sit and get lost in the story. With my better judgment I continued onto the next chapter and kept going. I went to school early so that I could have a quite place to sit and read the many pages. I often stayed up hours past I should to read what happens next. In the end, this was a story of rebellion and mistrust, and turned out to be a moving novel about family, love, and the mystery of summer bliss. This amazing book made me look at the world with a new view and put my priorities in order. Nicholas Sparks once again writes a story so touching that it will change the lives of everyone who reads it.

starting

So I have decided that I am in dire need to make something of myself and this life I am supposedly living.
Starting now I am going to commit and take charge of my life, doing what I love and what I believe is right.
Now I just need to figure out what those things are...

Those summer days...

Summer is a term of freedom to some, a season to others,
but to most its just another day to fully live.
